With a career that spans nonprofit leadership, corporate communications, and public engagement, Judith brings a deep, real-world understanding of what it takes to lead and sustain work that matters. She’s held leadership roles at notable institutions including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the National Civil Rights Museum, and International Paper, where she learned how to balance mission with message—and turn both into momentum.
Judith doesn’t just consult—she’s walked the walk. As co-founder of the Tarik Black Foundation, she’s created award-winning programs for youth in Memphis, Houston, L.A., and even Tel Aviv. From landing national grants to coordinating community reinvestment programs and cultivating international partnerships, she knows how to get big things done—while staying true to the communities that matter most.
At St. Jude, she led the hospital’s communications efforts and supported the launch of the Thanks and Giving® campaign, featured nationally on NBC’s Today show. At the National Civil Rights Museum, she led marketing and public relations for the internationally recognized Freedom Award where she helped manage the visits of human rights champions including President Nelson Mandela, Eli Weisel, Sidney Poitier, John Lewis, Harry Belafonte and a host of others. Her work has also supported legacy institutions like the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, where she oversaw its centennial rebranding and Memphis Light Gas Water where she launched an award-winning community education campaign promoting Memphis water.
Judith has earned numerous honors—including the City of Memphis’ MPLOY Community Partner Award, Tri-State Defender's Women of Excellence Award, YO Memphis Community Partner Award and multiple Public Relations Awards—and she’s been featured in Memphis Magazine, the Memphis Business Journal, The Commercial Appeal and numerous sports publications with professional basketball player, Tarik Black, her son.
A proud graduate of Clark College (now Clark Atlanta University), Judith holds a B.A. in journalism, an MBA in marketing, and is an alum of Leadership Memphis. She’s a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and has served on the Community Foundation’s Alliance of Black-led Nonprofits.
Today, whether she’s consulting, speaking, or serving on a board, Judith is all about one thing: helping nonprofits and their partners lead with clarity, courage and community to build work that lasts.
